The objective of this project is to restore the relationships between workers and residents, as used to be the case in the history of Cremorne, as well as enhance relationships between the homeless and others. Considering these relationships deteriorated as a result of the suburb being taken over by industries and commercial spaces, the project, on an unfinished site in Cremorne in need of regeneration following its industrial history coming to an end, should provide a space that prioritises nature over capitalism.
By regenerating the relationships of people and hosting public spaces for them to come together and connect, the project aims to consider an alternative to moving to regional areas (catalysed by COVID-19 where people’s homes are the main aspect of their lives) and finding safety and life within Cremorne.
