Tasked to renovate an existing 1960's home in Glen Iris, we aimed to create a beautiful place to live as well as complying with all of the Living Building Challenge's petals. We were able to for fill all of these applicable to a hypothetical project and achieved a 9 star Green Star rating.
With a partial extension to the front of the building and a new greenhouse patio out the back, we were able to retain a much garden space as possible while still using the required amount of land to facilitate new mechanisms, such as geothermal and sewage systems.
